Operations Director

As Operations Director for Drama Kids Metro Detroit West, I combined educational theatre with organizational leadership to create engaging programs for children across Southeast Michigan. My responsibilities included curriculum development, staff leadership, community partnerships, event coordination, and daily operations, all with the goal of helping young people build confidence, creativity, and communication through theatre.

Seussical Kids
Led a five-day summer theatre camp for 37 students ages 5–12 at Tipping Point Theatre, culminating in a production of Seussical Kids. Directed and conducted the show while creating rehearsal schedules, designing theatre activities, and coordinating all aspects of the production.

Student Showcases
Planned and coordinated end-of-season showcases across more than eight locations, managing rehearsal schedules, production logistics, family communication, and event execution to create memorable performances celebrating each student's growth.

Staff Coordination
Recruited, trained, and mentored a team of instructors to support programs across multiple locations. Conducted regular check-ins and performance evaluations, led staff meetings, and provided ongoing coaching to foster professional growth and maintain a high standard of instruction.

Fostered community partnerships by researching and securing new program locations, coordinating outreach efforts, and planning events that introduced families to Drama Kids and expanded our presence throughout Southeast Michigan.

I believe that building foundational skills, including memorization, public speaking, teamwork, and self-confidence, is crucial for healthy development. Educational theatre teaches all of these impactful skills in a way that is fun and rewarding for all.
